Our Story

The David and Jonathan of old had a legendary friendship. They stood by each other through thick and thin.

The David and Jonathan that founded this company met each other over 13 years ago. They had both moved to Vermont and worked in corporate America. Dave and Jon became friends. Dave eventually decided he wanted to try something else, so he became a violin maker. He learned all about wood and how to carve it. Jon had made some rustic benches for his dining room some years ago. He lives in a log house and wanted something that would be sturdy, but also be beautiful in a dining room setting. The benches he designed have withstood four teenage boys and are still going strong. Dave's preparation and training put together with Jon's idea about carving unique benches that would last a long, long time, are what lead to the founding of our company in the summer of 2013.
